These Foods Can Give You Healthy And Younger-Looking Skin

They say, you are what you eat - and it’s true.

If you don’t understand this saying, let’s look at it another way.  In many ways, your skin, and indeed your physical health, is akin to a potted plant. If you tend to it regularly by giving it freshwater and good fertilizer, your plant will flourish and thrive. On the other hand, if you merely water your plant once a week or leave it indoors, it will most probably wilt without the required attention and care.

In terms of sustenance, the human body bears close resemblance to the plant. You can work out, adopt great skincare routines, or dress to look young and fit, but nothing affects your physical appearance more than your diet.

If you give your body fresh foods and whole grains, it will thrive and with certain foods, you could even circumvent your beauty routine to help your skin achieve a natural glow and look youthful and healthy.

1. Blueberries

Many delicious foods aid the anti-aging process including dark chocolate and probiotics but we’re starting with something that is readily available, delicious, and is sometimes even hailed as a superfood. Blueberries are rich in antioxidants that are are helpful for fighting against the free radicals in your skin and can prevent it from aging prematurely.

Blueberries contain high amounts of vitamins and minerals which are great for your overall health, support collagen production, and keep your skin looking young and healthy. They are also believed to increase blood circulation which helps the cell regenerate faster so your skin never loses its glowy touch.

2. Fish

Fish is a great source of protein and healthy fats, which are key components to help maintain the skin’s health and youth. The Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin D found abundantly in fish regulate brain function and balance our body’s cholesterol for improved heart health.

All fish meat is great but if we’re talking about youthful skin, you might want to go for some fatty fish the next time you’re at the fish market. Researchers have found that astaxanthin and collagen present in fish like salmon improve the hydration and elasticity of the skin.
